Macarons sont des petites gourmandises françaises qui sont aussi assez populaire ici en Australie. Ils sont comme des petit tendre biscuits fourrés et goutent délicieux. La semaine dernière, j’ai fait des macarons la première fois, et ça c’était le résultat.

Last week we watched the film ‘la vie est un longue fleuve tranquille’ in French class. It’s a film about two families in France, a rich and a poor one. Two of their kids where being swapped in the hospital on their date of birth so the son of the rich family grew up with the poorer ones and the daughter from the poorer family grew up with the rich. When the kids are about 12 the families find out and decide that Momo, the boy lives with his ‘real parents’ because they are richer. The girl also stays with them and doesn’t know at first that she’s not their real daughter. The situation seems to be fine at first, but soon gets more and more problematic and the lives of everybody turn upside down.
It is a quit interesting film, although it is very different from other films. The problems of the characters give good stuff to think about and the film is good to challenge yourself with the language as it is in French and without subtitles.
One of our topic in French class this year is art. Last week we started to do a research about ‘les beaux arts’. Here you can see my mind-map with some useful words and expressions in French about art.
Hier, c’était la fête des mères. Je crois, c’est un beau jour d’apprécier ce que nos mères fait pour nous. Parce que je voudrais faire ma mère d’accueil une petit plaisir, j’ai la acheté des belles fleurs pour elle et l’après midi, on a bu du tisane ensemble. A ma mère en Allemagne j’ai écrit un e-mail gentil.

Dans notre dernier cours de français, on a écouté de la chanson ‘Aïcha’ de Cheb Khaled, C’est une chanson française avec quelques parts a la langue arabique et il y a quelques ans quand c’était très populaire. Je crois que c’est un chanson bonne autour c’est un peut exceptionnelle avec le style arabique. J’aime la mélodie et je crois que c’est une belle chanson d’amour.

Ici en Australie, c’est la dernière semaine d’école maintenant et puis on a des vacances pour deux semaines. J’adore les vacances! C’est le temps de se relaxer et faire des choses amusantes avec la famille et les amis. Qu’est-ce que vous faites pendant vos vacances? Moi, je vais aller dans le Outback une semaine. Je me rejoue déjà de voir cette part de l’Australie. Je pense que ça va être super! Je souhaite tout le monde des bonnes vacances!

Last week we had to do an interview with our French teacher, which will be part of the SACE for the Australian Students next year. We had to talk about a ‘sejour linguistique’ in France and our teacher was as well asking us questions about it. Because I was really in France for an exchange two years ago I could talk about my stay there and I prepared a power point to show her some pictures. It went pretty well and I got full marks!
If you once have to do an interview or talk in another language at school, I can give you the tip to prepare a mind-map with the things you want to talk about, this way is better than preparing a sheet with all the answers in whole sentences because that will affect your free speaking. If you are able to show pictures, do it! Choose some nice pictures you can talk about, it will help both you and your teacher, who can ask you questions about the things on the pictures as well.
Also, practise the questions at home that will help you to feel more confident about it. Don’t put yourself under too much pressure! Your teacher will know that you might be nervous and help you as much as you can. In my case, it was a very friendly atmosphere and just a casual talk.
